Astaxa is a microalgal biotechnology company employing the worlds most technologically advanced closed photobioreactors. We have our expertise in the long term production of microalgae in industrial scale with an output of 3 tons of dry biomass per year.
The company cultivates and sells fresh and salt water microalgae for application in cosmetics and aquaculture using an extensive manufacturing and marketing network.
Located in the Thuringian Forest on 4 hectares the production site stands out due to a stable climate with minimal fluctuations – ideal for a stable year round cultivation of microalgae.
An existing range of tubular photobioreactors from laboratory to industrial scale allows the cultivation and up-scaling of certain strains with respect to special applications.
